ROG Swift Pro: Asus introduces the first gaming monitor with 540 Hz

On the occasion of CES 2023, Asus is presenting its new 24-inch monitor, with which the manufacturer is targeting the eSports sector and achieving a refresh rate of up to 540 Hz for the first time. The ROG Swift Pro also features Nvidia's G-Sync processor and an audio converter.

With the new ROG Swift Pro PG248QP including improved e-sports TN technology (E-TN), Asus promises 60 percent faster response times, higher refresh rates, and a clearer image compared to classic TN panels.

In addition, it was not only possible to keep its promise of starting the market with a 500 Hz monitor, but also to achieve up to 540 Hz thanks to overclocking (OC). The company wants to remain competitive once again and primarily appeal to professional gamers.

eSports-ready Full HD resolution, Nvidia G-Sync, and Co.

At 24.1 inches, the ROG Swift Pro offers a standard resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. While gamers now like to choose the QHD or even 4K format, the classic Full HD resolution (FHD) is still essential in the e-sports sector.

To minimize tearing and latency, Asus installs a dedicated Nvidia G-Sync processor, which, in combination with the so-called Nvidia Reflex Analyzer, records the end-to-end system latency and optimizes the game and monitor settings accordingly.

The latency is also said to have been improved in terms of sound. An integrated ESS-DAC is intended to reduce reaction times and, with virtual surround sound, to present effects such as shots and footsteps in games acoustically more clearly.

Finally, Asus speaks of a new design with a foldable stand to provide more space on the desk. There is currently no information regarding price or availability in Germany.
